Many Palestinians living in the southern sector of the Gaza Strip continue to return to their homes after the latest waves of armed confrontations. This mass exodus of people is driven by their desire to return to their normal lives and attempt to rebuild their lives after the prolonged period of conflict.
As more people return, local authorities and humanitarian organizations are starting to provide assistance in meeting the basic needs for resuming life again in the once prosperous areas. However, some areas still experience an acute shortage of humanitarian aid due to the disruption and breakdown in deliveries.
Among the returning individuals, there are those who face the need to restore damaged homes and infrastructure from scratch. They count on international support and assistance for the restoration of damaged buildings and the return to normal life.
Reflecting the sentiments of residents in Southern Gaza, one of them said: "We strive for peace and stability, and hope that we can return to a normal life in our homes as soon as possible."
