The General Secretary of the General Federation of Palestinian Trade Unions, Saher Saad, condemned the systematic siege faced by Palestinian workers in the occupied West Bank. He highlighted continuous closures and daily incursions, stating that these policies constitute a complex crime against the Palestinian worker and infringe upon their natural right to work and a dignified life. Saad explained in a statement issued by the federation on Saturday that Israeli occupation policies over more than two years of continuous aggression have led to the loss of livelihoods for over 500,000 Palestinian workers. Unemployment rates have reached unprecedented levels, exceeding 50% in the West Bank, over 84% in the Gaza Strip, and approximately 44% in besieged areas.
