In the north of Rafah, south of Gaza, the house of the Madi family and a gathering of citizens near the Hamza mosque were attacked by the Israeli occupation, leaving four dead and several wounded, according to Mahmud Basal, spokesperson for the Gaza Civil Defense. This aggression adds to a series of recent attacks by Israeli authorities in Gaza, including bombings in the north that have kept the region under military siege for 18 days.
Gaza authorities reported that at least eight Palestinians died in the Yabalia refugee camp, one of the most affected areas in the north, due to an Israeli attack. This situation is exacerbated by the death toll in Gaza, where in the last two days, 115 Palestinians have died and 487 have been wounded, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, controlled by Hamas.
According to the Ministry of Health, in more than a year of war, 42,718 Palestinians have lost their lives, of which nearly 70% are women and children, while the wounded exceed 100,000. Additionally, it is estimated that around 10,000 bodies remain among the rubble and streets of Gaza, complicating rescue and evacuation efforts for security reasons.
Healthcare in Gaza is in a critical situation, with over 12,000 wounded needing urgent treatment outside the enclave due to resource shortages caused by the Israeli blockade at border crossings. Hospitals in the region, such as Kamal Adwan, are under military siege, leading to "catastrophic" conditions, according to the Ministry of Health. Authorities are requesting the intervention of international institutions to prevent an impending humanitarian disaster.
