In December 2023, as a result of an Israeli airstrike directed at a building in the Shuja'iyya area of Gaza City, 35 members of the Mahmoud Abu Dalf family were killed, including his wife and children. So far, only three bodies have been recovered from the rubble, despite the ongoing shelling.
