EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Kaja Kallas stated on Monday that reopening the Rafah crossing in Gaza is a «concrete and positive step». This decision, in her view, contributes to improving the humanitarian situation in the region. Kallas emphasized the importance of ensuring free and safe access for aid to reach the population. She also expressed hope for further steps towards de-escalating the conflict. The EU representative called on all parties to exercise restraint and engage in constructive dialogue.
