Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas reaffirmed on Wednesday Palestine's position that it is not for sale and assured that no part of its territory, including Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem, will be abandoned. After a meeting of the Fatah Central Committee in Ramallah, Abbas emphasized the rejection of any attempt to displace the Palestinian people, highlighting adherence to international law and the Arab Peace Initiative as the basis for any political solution.
Abbas stated: "Palestine is not for sale, nor is any part of our land. We must resist any attempt at displacement and maintain our national commitment under the leadership of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO)." Furthermore, the Fatah Central Committee reiterated its opposition to attempts of displacement and highlighted the determination of the Palestinian people to resist these efforts.
The committee praised Jordan and Egypt for their firm stance against calls for displacement and underscored the importance of an upcoming emergency Arab summit to address this issue and approve a reconstruction plan for Gaza. It also emphasized the need for unity under the leadership of the PLO to counter Israeli policies and achieve the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
