The source, marked with warnings, reported that mediators on the issue of the conflict in the Gaza sector proposed to Hamas a truce, lasting "less than a month."
This move is intended to ease the tense situation following the latest military clashes between Hamas and Israel. After a series of attacks by rockets and airstrikes, including in the border area in Holon, both sides expressed a desire to return to a ceasefire.
"I call on the leaders of the country to pay attention to the consequences of the continuation of the war against [the Palestinians], Islam," said Faud Ghatma, speaker of the Hamas parliament. "We bear responsibility before our people for the observance of their rights and use. We are ready to accept decisions that could help ease the strikes inflicted on our people."
