In the meantime, OCHA representative in the Middle East, Tor Wensland, stated on Tuesday that the region is currently experiencing "the most dangerous period in decades." He noted that conflicts, crises, and tensions in the region have only intensified due to various factors, including civil wars and interference from external powers.

According to him, more than 5 million Syrians have been forced to leave their homes, while in Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, and other countries, the flow of refugees continues to rise. Wensland also pointed out that the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the already complex humanitarian situation in the region.

He emphasized the importance of a political solution to the conflicts in Syria, Yemen, Libya, and other fronts, highlighting the necessity for cooperation from all sides to ensure peace and stability.
