Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi, Chairman of the Arab Parliament, welcomed the adoption by the United Nations General Assembly of a number of important resolutions in favor of the Palestinian cause by an overwhelming majority. Foremost among them is the affirmation of the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state with its capital in Jerusalem, in addition to the renewal of the mandate of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) to ensure the continuity of its humanitarian services to millions of Palestinian refugees in all its areas of operation. The Chairman of the Arab Parliament affirmed in a statement issued today that this broad international support reflects the international community's commitment to international law and its rejection of the illegal measures practiced by the occupation.
