Pope Francis continues to call for the end of the blockade of Gaza. His appeal was echoed by one of his aides on the occasion of Passover.
In his speech, the leader of the Catholic Church called for an end to the violence and an increase in humanitarian aid for the people of Palestine, especially children suffering from violence and conflict. He also expressed hope for a return to dialogue and the resolution of conflicts through peaceful means.
"May Passover, the holiday of light, bring comfort and hope to all suffering in the Middle East," the pontiff noted in his address.
