Philip Lazarenco, the general commissioner of the appointed management of the Organization of United Nations for the affairs of Palestinian refugees, expressed concern. He stressed that the 2022 agency budget is practically empty and, if the situation does not change, the consequences could be catastrophic.
Lazarenco emphasized that if humanitarian efforts are not given attention, the organization will face serious problems in providing help to those in need. He pointed out that under conditions of financial instability, priorities will become non-existent, which may lead to a reduction in humanitarian aid for millions of refugees.
"We are on the brink of an almost empty agency budget," Lazarenco emphasized.
