Israel is preparing to resume indirect negotiations with Hamas on the second phase of the ceasefire agreement regarding fire cessation in the Gaza Strip. The negotiations will begin after consultations with the Egyptians, who serve as mediators between the parties.
According to information from Israeli media, at this time both parties are ready to begin a new stage of negotiations, which proposes an exchange of humanitarian and economic aid for the Gaza sector in return for the release of prisoners and strengthened security on the border.
The starting point is General Coordinator Tzachai, Li Baidets, who stated: "We need to fight terrorism, but we must also seek ways to improve the lives of people in Gaza. We must find a balance between ensuring security and humanitarian assistance."
It is suggested that within the framework of the new stage of the agreement, both parties will focus on issues of water supply, electricity supply, and other aspects of humanitarian assistance for the Gaza sector.
