The international G7 group called on Friday for the resumption of humanitarian aid delivery in the Gaza sector "without obstacles."
"Collective mobilization of aid to the population of Gaza includes ensuring sustainable delivery of necessary items, in accordance with the principles of humanity, neutrality, and independence," the G7 foreign ministers stated in a joint statement.
According to them, the extraordinary necessity in conducting humanitarian operations in the Gaza sector must be recognized by all parties and ensure the safety of humanitarian workers.
"It is absolutely important that all parties adhere to international humanitarian law and contribute to the successful work of UN organizations and other international humanitarian partners," the statement reads.
"We remain in contact with our partners and friends around the world to discuss how we can support the common efforts in aid to the population of Gaza and ensure assistance where it is needed," the statement concludes.
