Attacks on Journalists in Tulkarm Unprecedented

In an unprecedented event, more than 200 journalists have been killed in Gaza in the last 15 months, highlighting the dangerous situation faced by media professionals in the region. Among them is journalist Suhaib Abu Diak, who witnessed Israeli soldiers shooting real bullets directly at him and a group of colleagues while they were at the Shahid intersection east of the city of Tulkarm. As a result, his colleague Nagham was injured by bullet fragments in her right hand and had to be treated at the Red Crescent Center.

The Israeli occupying forces have been interfering with the work of journalists covering the Zionist attacks in the city and its camp. Aggression against journalists is not limited to isolated cases, as evidenced by the incident reported by Motassem A Dalloul, a Palestinian journalist who lost his son and two brothers, also journalists, while covering the genocide in Gaza.

Despite the ongoing truce, which has faced numerous difficulties and violations, the State of Israel continues its attacks against the press. On this occasion, journalists were pursued and attacked with sound bombs, especially in the western neighborhood, the northern entrance of the camp, and the eastern entrance.

The most recent incident occurred yesterday when Nagham Zayet was wounded by a bullet from a machine gun fired by Israeli soldiers while covering an attack in the eastern neighborhood of Tulkarm in the West Bank. These attacks against journalists serve as a grim reminder of the dangers faced by those seeking to report on situations of conflict and violence in the region.
