Hamas stated on Friday that it received a proposal from intermediaries for the resumption of negotiations on the cessation of hostilities in the Gaza sector and responded to it.
"We are not going to accept proposals that are irrelevant, but we will study them seriously for the sake of protecting our people," said a Hamas representative.
He emphasized that their main goal is to protect the people in Gaza and to achieve their rights, adding that they are ready to continue efforts to achieve this goal.
Following the recent conflict in May between Hamas and Israel and after the last ceasefire, Hamas and Israeli authorities expressed readiness to resume dialogue on issues of security and humanitarian aid for the residents of the Gaza sector.
