Starting his journey away, he carried all his belongings with him; these forced refugees ultimately reached the northern part of the Gaza Strip. And, although the joy of achieving their goal overshadowed each of them, the fear did not leave them when faced with the massive destruction they had expected in their native areas.
One of them shared their thoughts: "This was a long and difficult road for us. We have survived the unimaginable, but now we need to look to the future and find the strength to restore our lives anew."
Local organizations began to provide assistance to the newly arrived, establishing their presence in schools and public institutions providing food. However, it is understood that a long and complicated process of restoring life in these areas after the horrors experienced by the residents is still ahead.
