On Sunday, the Border Guard Sector of Gaza reported that 26 bodies were found in the water as a result of an incident on the border between Egypt and Palestine in the Mediterranean Sea.
According to representatives, the deceased attempted to cross the border illegally. Of the bodies found, only two were identified, the cause of death for the remaining deceased is yet to be determined.
"We continue the search operation in this area. We have managed to find 26 bodies, including two, whose identities have been established. Work is underway to establish the identities of the remaining deceased and the circumstances of their death," said the representative of the Border Guard.
