The World Health Organization (WHO) announced that more than 900 Palestinian patients have died in the Gaza Strip due to delays in undergoing medical operations.
According to WHO, due to the destroyed infrastructure and the blockade of the strip, many patients are not receiving timely medical assistance. The organization stated that this figure could rise if unhindered access for humanitarian aid to the region is not ensured.
"We call for the immediate opening of all border crossings for the delivery of medicines and medical personnel," the WHO statement said.
