Lent and Marca, representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross, expressed serious concern about the possible provision of humanitarian assistance in the Gaza sector. This also pertains to the suspension of electricity supply to a single plant for water purification.
In their statement, it was noted that such measures could lead to an acute humanitarian crisis in the region. They called on all parties to engage with this problem and not to allow an escalation of the already complex situation in Gaza.
"Even short-term interruptions in water supply can cause irreparable harm to human life and health in the Gaza sector," emphasized Lent and Marca.
