On Monday, the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Sector announced that the number of war casualties had reached 47,317 people, mainly among women and children.
According to preliminary data, more than 70% of the deceased are women and children. The healthcare infrastructure has been severely damaged as a result of the attacks by the Israeli army. Hospitals and medical centers have been attacked, leading to an even larger number of casualties among the civilian population.
Leila al-Khatib, a representative of the Ministry of Health, stated: "We are facing a humanitarian catastrophe. We urgently need medical assistance and humanitarian aid to save the lives of people caught in the conflict zone."
